Was doing some work in the shop today, and while waiting for some damascus to anneal, and some epoxy to set, I milled this little box for a straight razor. A good friend asked me to see if I could find any info on this razor, it is old, early 1900's i believe, it has horn scales, a silver wedge (based on patina, and how easily it polishes) It was in good shape, showing signs of age, so while I had it I cleaned it up, honed and stropped it, sanded and buffed the scales, and cleaned and polished the blade. I did the box as a thank you.
It is one piece of walnut, hollowed out, the top is relieved to sit inside, then the whole thing sanded flat/flush, then oiled and waxed. It looks like a little block of wood, almost seamless. I think he'll like it :)
