I have been wanting to try a metal ferrule for a long time. This was kinda of an experiment. I wasn't sure if I could pull it off, and well this handle is a mess. It's non-symmetrical, not square, it has no taper, and is too small. I learned a few things though, most importantly I need to do 90% of the shaping before I ever glue them together. Anyway here's a few pics I thought I would add some more later assuming I actually do improve at this. I plan to do a few more practice handles, with these Ironwood pen blanks I bought a while back. I thought they would make good petty handles, but are really too small. What do ya'll think of this look?

I like it, looks cool. Just as a personal preference, i like ferrules just a little longer. I like the contrast, works.

I like the contrast as well, it would be nice and even with a bolster. It would make a nice letter opener handle.

I think the contrast is a little too much. Needs something to break it up.

Looks Good........If you don't have a mill I would say pre-shaping the metal would be the easiest way.

Looks pretty good, Mike. I'm with the other Mike on this, though. I feel the ferrule needs to be longer, just for a better balance. I know these will turn out great very soon! :)
