There is an FAQ about this: http://www.kitchenknifeforums.com/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_vb3_attachment s
The easiest way is not to bother trying to upload to the forum, but just linking to the image that you've uploaded to a host service like Photobucket. Photobucket even gives you the HTML code for the link:
Just copy the HTML code from Photobucket by clicking on it and paste it into your post.

Holy crap it does. Holy crap holy crap.
I want to apologize now, in advance, to all members in this forum. I take pictures. Lots of pictures. And now I have stumbled upon the means on how to post/share.

It's a bit trickier with FB as they make it a little hard to get a URL for the image itself. Much easier to use flickr/photobucket/whatever.
Also, the FB image must be visible to the public, not just friends.

You can also always preview a post before you publish it, to make sure all pics/links are working. Click "Go Advanced" next to "Post Quick Reply" and you'll get the full interface with preview capabilities. This is really important at KKF because you only have a 15 min time window to edit once publishing. Gotta get your ducks in a row before you go live :) GL!

by using attach image option

You have to copy the link with the image tags from Photobucket. If you just copy the URL of the image, as you did, it won't work.
Then, it works.

THanks for the pointer..
took me quite a while. I did a right click on the image and copied the url as i didnt see the information box on teh right hand side. I suppose this method does not work as it has to go thru the log in process of photobucket as opposed as to teh image html code generated that allow the pic to be see,
A step nearer to mastering it. Almost had brain hernia.
again tks and have a nice week-end

thanks for the kind assistance and kind patience with those that are less computer literate. You have always been quick to the rescue
its a 5 inch thick Macassar ( indonesian Island) Ebony table. Not wide enough for a dining table. On the bucket list is to hunt for a nice thick American Walnut minumum 3 inch thick for a console table. Took 6 guys to move it and place it on the legs. Next project is to put a glass top which will follow the contour of the natural edge.
again thanks adn Happy Easter
