I have 2 sources in Australia who are able to provide me with World Class burl and figured woods from there.
I sent them messages and both have agreed to put together batches of their very best.

Some of the woods they will be sending me are;
Ringed Gidgee
Vasticola Burl
York Gum Burl
Rib Fruited Mallee Burl
Red Morel Burl

The wood will probably start arriving this spring.
I am really excited about getting more wood from these guys.

I will try to dig up some old photos to show what these woods look like.

BTW: El Pescador was the one who kept pushing me to get more of this stuff. I had put it off because it takes a lot of time and is expensive. But it is super nice wood that I can't get anywhere else.

Pesky -

How many blocks of wood have you bought from Mark? Do you use these blocks like Legos and make burl block sculptures of things like the Death Star or the Taj Mahal at your place ? :tease:

I have amassed quite a collection.

As to how many, too many. It like counting grains of sand on a beach...

Ringed Gidgee is in the Acacia family, a cousin to Koa.
This grows in arid regions of Australia and has a density to rival Ironwood.
This is what some of the best Ringed Gidgee looked like from my last batch.

I emailed my source in Australia and may be able to get some thin stuff for saya material.
It will be expensive, but if it doesn't sell for sayas, the folder makers will want it.
