View Full Version : Caring for a wa handle

Hi all,

I got a Konosuke Fujiyama gyuto from B/S/T recently, and even though it's in great condition overall, I can see a little gap starting to form between the horn ferrule and the ebony handle - probably because the ebony shrunk a little over time.

Is there a good way to deal with this, both for good looks and to avoid dirt getting trapped in the gap?

There's also a small scratch on the ferrule; can it be polished out using sandpaper?

I can post pictures later if it helps.

A drop of thin ca glue will fix your gap right up. Fine sandpaper will fix up your scratches.
