This happens to me at least once a year. I get so obsessed with kitchen knives and knives in general that I end up refreshing this website every 3-5 minutes. Please support me!!!! :beatinghead::beatinghead::beatinghead::beatinghea d::beatinghead::beatinghead::beatinghead:

It's like contractions: don't call the doctor until they're less than 2 minutes apart...

I wonder how many times I have clicked the "what's new" tab on this forum.

You are not alone.
The "what's new" button is bound to 'command+2' on my browser, specifically so I can refresh more quickly.

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one, its scary to think who's going to beat me to the bargains on BST

Funny, I was just thinking about a how helpful a support group might be for folks strung out on cutlery steel. I'm in.
My name is Mike. I'm addicted to high carbon cutlery steel. I mostly use Japanese, but I've been known to have a taste of Swedish, and occasionally home grown American. It's been two weeks...

Ha, this is too funny. Its the first thing i do when i get home from work, and a good few checks till bed. My wife cant fathom how one can look and talk about bloody kitchen knives so much. Im a scaffolder by trade and my workmates certainly think its odd! (and a fair bit of banter). I love it.

My workmates think my knife obsession is odd and I'm a chef. They all like knives but look twice when I pull out a borosilicate rod, or a loaded balsa strop etc or a box of a dozen stones...

The doctor is in. Tell me your troubles. My fees are reasonable and I accept knives as payment :)

^^ hahaha. Fine, but I'll help you with your addiction for some handles! :D

*Please note, I'm not a doctor, let alone a doctor of the mind, like Stefan. However, I will take free stuff.

Yeah, my crew thinks my knife obsession is a little odd, but they seem to appreciate it at the same time. I always let them check out anything new or interesting and they even seem to "get" my preoccupation with patina. They'll all be carbon junkies eventually.

I don't get the problem. Aren't you supposed to click the What's New button every two minutes?

I will give you a hint, the first three letters of his user name are "pen", the last three are "ger"

The guy has wicked fast reflexes.
