Do you have the olive stabilized? That is one of the woods where I am not sure whether to stabilize or not.

Hello Stefan. Olive is one wood that I have worked with both stabilized and natural. And I prefer natural.. Olive wood does take stabilization if its GOOD and dry. but like many other woods. Its not necessary for the most part. because the wood does not "take" stabilization well in my experience. Yet it does take a great oil finish? Go figure.. Its a pretty wood that makes a very serviceable handle material.

This handle is a natural burl that has been oil finished. I cut the burl slab into blocks about a year ago and I would say it was fully dry then. Yet Its been sitting in open air in my shop for at least 11 months. :)

Thanks for checkin out the thread and for the question.

God Bless YA

I love olive wood an really have to try one of your knives. They are definitely the most eye appealing of all the knives I see around. Now I have to find a money tree.
