Question, What do you think about drip grooves? I was thinking of adding them only along the top and one side. Either L or R? Opinions?

Any opinions on a juice groove? I have seen some nice boards with them all around. Yet have not used a board with them yet. In my minds eye. Unless the board is HUGE I can see them making a nice board seem small? That is why I thought just adding them on one long and one side would allow the user, R or L handed to have more board yet still the benefit of a groove.

I'd say leave the grooves off a board like that.

No grooves.

And a second call for No GROOVES! Thanks much for your input!

Looks nice. I also vote for no grooves.

I would put the logo on the side (or bottom), rather than on the cutting surface. Personally, I always request logos on the bottom as I prefer a cleaner look.

Its looking like no grooves is the way to proceed. :) I suppose I could offer them as a option for the ones who may like them or want them on there board. So that is what Ill do. :2cents: :pirate1:

And noted,, about the logo. Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.. :idea2:

I like the grooves as an option as I like them on my meats board, but not my veggie boards. But I do like them all around, not just a side or 2. Very nice work again Randy.

Very nice no grooves for me

So Randy, what do you do in your spare time?:knife

06-14-2013, 06:21 PM
my vote: no grooves (except for option i suppose) and also logo on side and not on board surface

Interesting design.

Are you making these yourself or have them made to your specs?

I would vote no grooves... grooves are super annoying to slice on. plus you should rest your meat also if its gonna be lots of juice I prefer to just put the cutting board on a sheet tray. Juice grooves just remind me of the graton on the side of most knives that dont really work and eventually get in the way.
your board looks great though and I love your logo but if I had a choice Id want it on the side.

I will just repeat what many have already said, no groove (I hate them), logo not on cutting surface. Nice looking board.

Thanks for checking out the thread and for your comments. Ill leave the groove off unless I do a 2 sided board. or a customer requests the grooves.

Makers mark on the side also makes perfect sense. :)

Thanks again, Ill post again with specs and stuff as soon as possible.

God Bless YA!
