I shared a few pictures of this one yesterday. AEBL and Koa.

This one is approx 2.5mm above the heel tapering to the tip. The RC on this is 60

The handle is made from Koa and is highly contoured and shaped to fit the hand like no other! With custom liners and mosaic pin.

Thanks for looking. As always comments and or critiques welcomed!

I may have to switch my order from a wa-handle to one of these western handles Randy, beautiful.

Very nice. Was that profile inspired by the Masamoto HC?

I think we might be able to do that. :) Gota check what handle materials you chose for the project and if they will work for a western. :) Email me when ya get a chance and we will work out the details

Thanks, I can see the similarity. Yet I have never used or seen one of the Masamoto HC Gyuto's So I would have to say the design is not inspired by it. :)

It's a classic profile you normally find with the largest French sizes only.

Ed, Your right. It is exhibition grade Koa! and it just looks so nice all carved and contoured like it is! :)

Benuser. Yep. I love the profile and think it really cuts well!

Thanks guys for your input and comments

The blade is approx 2.9 above the heel tapers to 2.45 midway and from there tapers to the tip. which is approx .90 one CM behind the tip.

I think a few pictures can show it better then the specs. :)

The spine is rounded, the choil is relieved. I have not added the final edge to the blade yet. So the heel shot is pre cutting edge. :)
