Introducing The All U Need JKS Strop Kit ! (http://www.japaneseknifesharpeningstore.com/product-p/stropkit.htm)

I've gone ahead and combined all of the best stropping gear that I've been able to find into one "All U Need" system (kit).

I am 100% certain that this kit will be all that you will ever want and/or need for de-burring and stropping your Japanese knives. It's the exact same kit that I use everyday in my work - not a thing is different.

For the time being we're offering this at a very low introductory price and supplies are limited.

Thanks for your support and happy stropping! :)

Hey Dave,

Got the package in this past friday, and finally got around to using it on saturday. I must say that i am very impressed. For anyone on the fence, jump. It's worth every penny if not more. I thought my knives where sharp, but after a strop on the felt!! I was scared. Then after the diamond loaded Leather, I was speechless.

Oh man did I get sidetracked from that project. Might take me a few days before I can even think about it again. It's a great idea though, at least I think it is.

Joe,

Are you using the diamond spray on the felt, or are you using it dry?

I know the shipping cost is nuts to send stuff down to you guys. I'm always shocked when I see the prices - crazy.

I think stone kits would be a fabulous idea. You could even do different packages: budget, professional etc. Maybe even a Western Blade package with an Idahone and a 1000 or 1200 grit stone would be a nice option.

I got my kit about a week ago. It's nice not having to use my long thin strop anymore. I am in awe at how much this adds to the overall quality of my sharpening. This is probably some of the best money I have spent since I started free handing. We'll see how long it lasts when I take it on the road BBQing this year.

BBQ sauce can be bad for the felt.

BBQ sauce can be bad for the felt.

Can't do more damage than I did my first night with the kit by dripping a bunch of water on it! Got it fixed with some help from Theory :) Shaved the little "bubbles" right off!

Joe,

Are you using the diamond spray on the felt, or are you using it dry?

Rick

I use the diamond spray on the leather and the felt is dry.

Question for veteran stroppers. How often to load the spray on the leather?

Dave Martell

I do 2-3 coats min when I first start with a new leather pad and then refresh when it feels like I'm spending more time than usual to get the results, you'll know when.

eeep, guess i better get onto it before the jump. that $38.45 shipping is slightly less painful with the AUD at the moment.

Maybe you can give me some tips to get started at the ECG? I am looking forward to seeing you again and attending the ECG. I am headed out this afternoon to the Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland's annual Blacksmith Days Event. -Doug

Wow do you have good timing Ben, I was just about to drop an update in here for you guys waiting on this item.

Unexpectedly the hone supplier had an issue come up with his leather supplier where he can no longer get the same leather anymore. This is a BIG deal to the both of us since we're both users as well as sellers of this product. Any leather pad that I sell has to be approved by me to meet or exceed my base standards and I have very high standards these days. This means that the hunt for new leather has not been an easy one, in fact it's been an impossible one. The supplier has been all over the country looking for just the right texture that can be bought in bulk and that will adhere properly to the steel plates and then of course pass our tests too.

I have bases, plates, felt, and diamond spray here on hold but no leather which is a key component. Yes I could slap on some leather from wherever but neither of us wants that. At the moment there is no clear solution to this problem. :(
