Hey Mark!

This is an invitational but we are still trying to hammer out the details for vendors/suppliers.

We will be in touch with you either way if you are interested in joining the show.

Talked to Bruce Bump yesterday and he said he will be at the show.
For those of you that don't know Bruce.....
his butcher knives include a 40 caliber pistol so you can shoot and cut all with the same knife.

I really wish I would have planned ahead and been able to attend the show.
But finances and not enough inventory prevent me from taking part this year.
At the Oregon show I talked to several of the knife makers who will be at the show.
There are some very talented knife makers who will be bring some amazing knives.
I envy those of you who will be there.

The show is just one week away ... a little scary!! I'd especially encourage folks who are attending to take part in the pre-funk event at David Lisch's forge on Friday. It is open to the public and is a great opportunity to see some forging. I'll be pretty busy during the show, but I'm going to do my best to post some photos during the event.

Did anyone get a chance to look at the kitchen knives from Erik Fritz J.S.? Just curious as to what thoughts those of you who saw them in person had.

gunnerjohn
05-03-2014, 11:52 AM
I spent a bit of time looking at his knives and was impressed with his building ability. He and I chatted that his knives felt a bit "right handed" because he is a right handed user himself and the final feel was from a right handed person. If you were to be a lefty you might have issue or ask him to massage the handle a bit. As for specifics in the blade geometry I really don't have much memory after seeing so many other amazing knives at the show. Erik was great to chat with and was grateful for our conversation.

danielomalley
05-12-2014, 01:42 AM
Hi @stereo.pete ... Erik's chef's knives were pretty amazing. Good enough, in fact, that I got a few of them! The blade geometry seemed very good, with the shapes being nicely Japanese influenced. Thin edges, nicely rounded handles. I'm looking forward to posting them on Epicurean Edge and seeing other's opinions. We may have another custom knifemaker turned into a high performance custom chef's knife maker!
