Maybe it isn't possible, but I think it would be kind of cool to have in our profiles some more knife-related info that we could provide (i.e., stone setup, current favorite knife, worst knife, etc.)

Just thought it might be interesting.

Are you thinking about a separate tab for this or just getting people on board with listing their gear in their profile?

I don't know really. It could be in a tab or just in the basic information. Sometimes someone's knives tell us more about a person than their occupation.

Hey, no way I'm admitting I have a set of Guy Fieri's knives!

On BBQ boards folks tend to put that info in their signature lines. Would that work?

I think the sig lines would be 2 pages long with these guys. :D

i'm on a photography forum where there is a long thread where people list their gear... then everyone just puts a link to their specific post in that thread in their sig line. That might work. It would be best if the time to edit each post in that thread never expired.

A signature link to the url of a profile tab would work just as well, and allow for infinite editing.

Just add "Knives" and "Stones" as categories under Basic Information. Maybe those wouldn't qualify as basic information most places, but here it would.

Or maybe a "post your collection" section of the forum where each person can create a thread and show off what they got if they would like.

Do you guy`s look at profiles? Can they be seen by non members?

Check out your profile page and see if you have a new tab titled "My Knives & Sharpening Gear"

If so then you guys can add in your stuff there, however, if you make a sig line link it's going to go to your profile page - not specifically to this tab.....this is the best this guy can do. :)

it would be cool if we could add a picture or two in the profile (using outside hosting of course ;) )

Oh man now you're pushing my outer technological limits. :D

I know that there's ways for PC geeks to do it but I'm at a loss myself.

That looks like it will do the trick. BTW, how do you ever get time to sharpen and build knives with all this internet stuff? :)

I can't tell if that was a Freudian slip or a pun.

Either way, I enjoyed it.

Hahah I was thinking the same thing.

I'm going to say it was a pun. Clever the way he did that.

Here's the info on the member's picture album option (http://www.kitchenknifeforums.com/showthread.php?2166-Picture-Albums-Enabled). You may want to use this to show off your collection as well as within the tab on your profile page.

You should also be able to add a link in your signature line that points to an album if you want to use this as a way of sharing your gear with the readers.
