I like the damascus pattern and the edge profile. I think I'd shave some off the top so it has more of a point on the tip.

I love it when a plan comes together.. Here are a few pics of the blade after the main grinds, and etched.. Next I will add Thorn and vine filework along the spine. Then make the matching damascus bolsters..

That's going to be one sweet knife. Can't wait to see the finished product. I don't believe I've ever seen rosewood Burl.

Rosewood burl is some amazingly beautiful stuff!! BUT, It does need to be properly seasoned or dried fully, or it will shrink and crack and bow, It gets ugly fast.. dont ask me how I know!! lol

These blocks have been seasoned for over 3 years by me and the seller seasoned for 2 1/2 years B4 I purchased it.. Its finally ready to use! :bliss:

Here is a pic, enjoy.

Great looking knife, I really like the profile.
What is the grind?

Thanks, The grind is a full flat with a slight convex toward the cutting edge. This helps to keep food sticking to a minimum. and makes the geometry better at the transition between the cutting bevel and the main grind..

Thanks for looking.

Lordy mercy, 5 year prep on that wood! Sheesh!

Yep, Some of the woods we use and love take many years to get to a point where they can be used or stabilized. And some, like these wicked blocks or Rosewood are worth the wait and the work. :)

Thanks guys for the comments. Im very pleased with the way this one flows and came together.. As well as how it cuts! Were planning on doing another with same damascus and handle materials But changing the tip a little. As well as adding copper liners and pins. Changing the tip from santoku style to a slightly thinner more pointed tip.:knife: What do ya think? :cheffry:

sachem, Based on the "plan", There gona be exceptional!!! :D

Again, Thanks everyone for looking and the comments.

Its a KNIFE LIFE!
