Trying to find a really good set of heavy steakhouse style steak knives.

Ive found the wusthof set for $200, found a few cheaper ones for $10 each, found the place in Texas that will even engrave them !!

What i cant find is a place that sells the really heavy style with the bolster and even a rear peice of metal. Something substantial. Not mind reasonable cost but not $200.

Blade quality is not that critical, the recipitants are just going to sharpen them on a crappy sharpener

Thanks

Alan

how many knives do you need? serrated or straight?

I would go for Victorinox rosewood, non-serrated for easy maintenance.

But if you want them really heavy: I've got my stainless Diamant Sabatier Forgé for some €30.

Need a set of 4 or 6

Serrated would be more traditional, especially for non knife people

I find Victorinox knives to be pretty lightweight, not syaing the are poor quality just not what im after here.
