the steamship Montgomery fought in the civil war and sank in 1877 recovered the grinding wheel 1989.

I am picking up a stone from about 30+ years ago. One of my friends got it from one of his buddies and he used it for years for kitchen knives and axes. It's motorized and has a water bath underneath it. Wheel is around 20" in diameter, maybe a bit more and around 1.5" wide. I will get pics once I get it!

These are cool.
One of my favorite things about sharpening is that if we could travel in time, we could go to a caveman using flint tools and, provided we breach the language barrier, talk shop. Brilliant.
