I guess they forgot to wipe it down during service? :D

I think there's a knife somewhere under there...

BTW, this isn't a knife I have in to work on, it's one that came in a couple of years ago though. I just stumbled across the pictures and thought I'd share. :)

omg I hope you didn't have to make that "like new". It would be cheaper to just buy a new one.
Are those barnacles growing on there?

Could be one of mine...

Cool! Just hit it with the angle grinder with a wire brush, and mail it off to someone to forge it into a piece of random dammy to make some necklaces and stuff.
There's no such thing as trash! I only see opportunity!

What ended up happening to it?
For other knives possibly in this condition, could you use electro-rust removal?

I call it character.

Did you get that from the Titanic?
05-05-2012, 07:57 AM
Where are the after pics?

I got lucky on this one, I found a huge crack at about 2-3" from the tip and we sh*t canned it.

leave it as is and sell it as the last of the Ming Dynasty royal knives $2000.

Do you know what the knife started out as? What a shame....

"Small nicks and other battle damage visible near tip."
"In good condition for its age."
"Two-tone handle, very collectable!"
"Still razor sharp!"
"My uncle bob brought this back from germany when he killed 87 Nazis and three U-boats with it! If you don't buy this knife then you are supporting terrorist zombie Adolf Hitler!!!1!1one1!!"
"Found in my grandfather's trunk. Grandma said he had it for years - might be civil war relic!"
"Ultra RARE - One of Jim Bowie's prototype models!!"
