“Ino” is well-known for their knife sharpening skills in Sakai. The family has been sharpening high-quality Sakai forged knife for decades. Takeshi’s father Yuzo and Hideki & Takeshi’s uncle Shimpei are both government-certified Masters of Japanese Traditional Crafts and famous craftsmen like Yukinori Oda and Shotaro Nomura honed their skills at Ino’s place. The Ino family creates blades for famous traditional Japanese knives such as Suisin and many more. Hideki took his father Chuichi’s work in 2009 and is now leading their family business with his cousin Takeshi.

On March 3, 2012 we were honored to have Hideki Ino & Takeshi Ino come all the way from Sakai, Japan to Korin's showroom to perform their sharpening skills. Many guest RSVP'ed and attended this once in a life time opportunity event.

Really it's to keep patrons from wandering in there. Sort of an off limits area.

I could see someone standing right in the way. Right on top and even so the sharpener can't see the blade.

Oh so you don't want them talking to each other. Flying shrapnal?:clown: I'm kidding I think it adds a little mystique.
