I've been to #10, Eleven Madison Park. It's more than a great meal.

I've been to number 7, Alinea and documented my experience somewhere on these forums with pictures. It was a very fun experience, though I'm in no rush to go back since Chicago has so much to offer at the moment in terms of culinary talent.

Wow...Keller @ #43?!? That's surprising.

I may have to try out 27 or 28 next week. I'll let you know.

The only one I've been to on that list is also Manresa. That 14 course tasting menu was easily one of the best meals I've ever had.

I'm Amazed french laundry dropped so low... The only one i have in my neck of the woods is Iggy's. Ok, I'll have to go in July. Enough procrastination

I been lucky enough to dine at 3 of the top ten. Per se couple years ago, have 24 courses. Long dinner about 5 hours. Ate a Can Roca in Spain, absolutely amazing. And couple months ago i ate at EMP.

you know Keller owns Per Se right? In the kitchen, behind the expo line is a LCD screen with live feed from French Laundry. He can see and let people know what needs to get done.

Yep, know that. Very good friend of mine used to be Director of Private Dining at Per Se.

But it also said the French Laundry was a 're-entry' as it wasn't on the list at all in 2011. I guess one could say it was a good year for him to get back on the list. I kind of wonder if/when Next will ever show up on the list. One of the rules is that "Voters must have eaten in the restaurants they nominate in the last 18 months." It will be a long time before enough voters get to eat there for it to make the ranks.

Waku Ghin is up there too, no? #39 :p

Been to Iggy's and Le Benardin. Ripert's place was and still is my fave dining experience. Looking at Mugaritz, Narisawa and Nihonryori RyuGin as my next place to both eat and stage!!
