First up the Masion de l' outil the tool museum in Troyes France.

The Tool and Trade Museum's 10,000 tools testify to this transmission by craftsmen from generation to generation. They take the visitor on a journey through time and constitute keys to understanding today's trades. The only museum of its kind in the world, the Tool and Trade Museum is a window onto the trades of both the past and future, for all those interested in arts and crafts, as well as in industrial technologies, history and trades in general.

Post number 5 steely....that's very similar to the notch at the end of my cleaver....why is it flat like that and cut at an angle?.....any ideas.....Ryan

That cleaver in post 5 is modern take from a young blacksmith trained in Vietnam now working in France with a blacksmith.
and i think it's just the steel piece he works with is why his handle is like that .
but I am just blowing smoke up your skirt until you POST A PICTURE RYAN.
