Introducing the Imanishi Tamago 4 (http://www.japaneseknifesharpeningstore.com/Imanishi-Tamago-4000x-4k-sharpening-stone-p/imantam4k.htm)k (http://www.japaneseknifesharpeningstore.com/JKS-3000x-3k-sharpening-stone-p/jks3k.htm)

This is a splash 'n go stone that is best used either between the Bester 1200x and Suehiro Rika 5k or as a touch up stone.

In my use and testing this stone does great in wire edge and burr reduction and helps to achieve an very crisp edge when followed by the Suehiro Rika 5k.

Can be used alone as a touch up stone when your edge is dulling and you don't want to raise a burr with a coarser stone.

The finish created on the edge is very shiny for a 4000x stone.

Stone comes mounted on a wood base.

Size - 225 x 76 x 25mm

Neat, and it's an Earth-tone color. I always feel more legit when I sharpen with a stone that is a dull color--every serious Japanese sharpener I've seen uses these fugly mud/brick/mustard-colored stones.

A bit OT, but I'm feeling chatty tonight.

You should do a video!

This is one of the best options for use as a touch up stone. An edge can be kept going a very long time by just dropping back to this stone and either stopping here or following with the Suehiro Rik 5k for a crisp bitey edge. It's great in this role because it cuts fast enough to bring back the sharpness without creating a burr. This is a very under rated and under valued stone.

Also, this stone can be used on single bevel knives because it gives a pretty even appearance with a silky smooth texture. The trick, as with most stones, is to work up the mud and let up on the pressure. The edge is crispness. :)
