Head over to JCK for:

"JCK Original 風林火山 Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan
Yanagiba Series
Special Order Made, Your Dream Yanagiba"

Looks interesting, but I have already had too many ... for a home cook.

Maker was not disclosed, but pictures look d..n nice. Available options seem pretty generous too:
- white #1, #2 kasumi
- blue #1, #2 kasumi and suminargashi
- various handles
- mirror polish
- even blade thickness and height

Quite a cool proposal Koki is making here, this is :boxing:

I noticed that he does the same with Mizuno, and a few others.

I assume it's real silver on the handle in the pictures? $375 for a handle seems a little steep

They do look nice. The silver spacers on the handles too much (visually and $-wise) I think. I'd go for marble-ebony.

This fills a very useful niche and pricepoint. Dangerous, I'd say.

Anybody know how thin the spine can be on a yanagiba? I assume there is a limit beyond which the knife can not be made.

Kinda an old thread, but I was wondering if anybody had any first hand experience with one? White #1 perhaps?
