Due to the board of the housing cooperative being 100% jackasses(maybe more like fucktards and dimwits) I need to find another shop, they think it's better to have 25m2 of space not to be used by ANYONE instead of me offering to rent the space.

So I will be inactive for a little while until I find something new...

Thanks for all the great word, it's really great to hear that my work motivates people to post! :)

News about my shop situation: I have talked to a housing cooperative board member with the same "level"(as the "C*nt" who gives me a hard time) in importance about this and he said it was 100% crazy that I can't use the space, but she lied about me(yes, is look like a criminal in some peoples eyes[no hair, tattoo and a beard]), made up scenarios that are not even possible and for some reason alot of people just gave her the on/off swith decision.

My better half vent balistic and confronted her when I was at work, now we are moving the shop to the inlaws garage a few months... then we'll se how this turns out.

I don't really know it this made so much sense and all... but I need to dump this somewere and here feels most relevant.

The fun thing is that the one who has a hobby can't use the space that's made for people with a hobby.

But soon i'm back on track, this fuels me in a strange way... :D

Have a great day. /Dan

Most of my handles are created by having the brain somewhat disconnected, the thought process is minimal when shaping and I can say for sure were the inspiration comes from. :S

The wood selection came through that Maksim sent some blocks and scales he wanted me to use, but after sawing the first scale the block killed my last bandsawblade so I had to dive through the woodbox to see if I had something that was precut, found some wood that had been sent about 6months ago and i repayed a set of scales i stole etc. :P

I only just 'discovered' this thread. Awed, TOTALLY AWED by your work Dan! Some boots are made for walkin' but your handles are definitely made for hands (and eyes, and heart!).

Yeah white ebony took a very high position on the list of woods that I like(both looks and how it is to work with) the kasumi katos are more workhorses than lasers... you need atleast two of them Huw! :D

He has two already I believe. But from the sound of it, it looks like he is considering a third. Can't have three Devins and only two Katos, right Huw?

Haha, if you try and keep up with what's in my kit, you're fighting a losing battle. I can barely keep up myself. I have owned 7 different Katos, but at the moment it's just the one! There will be more though, and that white ebony is winking at me!

Thanks James, hard to come by these puppies, hopefully it performs as good as it looks.?

Well did it perform? :)

Since I have a great landlord(well more like shoplord) I figured i need to give back something since he has not wanted a single dime for me using the space he offered me.

So this is what's he and his better half/soon mother of child is getting for christmas: It's a freestyle Itinomonn to make sure it's damn unique, handle is more close to the heel of the blade on the bottom than on the top, this was a huge mistake(me being tired while doing the handle)... but I learned something from this, you are forced into a pinchgrip and while looking really really weird it feels more natural than anything i have ever done. :)
http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/9797/hg4s.jpg

Kick ass two tone Redwood from Mr.Farley(for some reason I always use this wood on gifts), blade has gotten a handrub from stock finish from 240-400-1200grit reverted to mirca 120-220-400grit pads and finished with 1200grit wet/dry and a 3micron polishing compound.

Hope you like it, because this is the last thing you will see from me this year atleast. :)

So it's time for the shop to give birth again, this time it's a gang of freestyle intinomonns.

The twins are wearing Gidgee, black fiber liners with soldered and notched brass bolsters, they also has had some "plastic surgery" (i.e having their butts removed... with an angle grinder)

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/263/e3fn.jpg
This was a practice knife when I tried to figure out the soldering process(while somewhat drunk), but i'm happy how it turned out and it has alot of inspiration from both Harner and Delbert. She's wearing Thuya leggings, black fibre liners and I feel like this is a knife that can please both the western-lovers and the wa-jockeys.

Take care.

from top to bottom not listing length but the long ones are 210mm and the shorter ones are 180mm.
3*Japanese cedar
1*Beefwood
1*Thuya

And this time I took 210mm for myself... not in the picture because it has no relevance. :)

Thanks! I was surprised after I passes the block through the bandsaw, had a much more dramatic inside than what the outside told me. :)

Knerd: yes ofc, need to build a light tent though. Have way to much shiny stuff around that area to not make picture taking a hazzle... plus my lens has a back focus issue. :/
