Honing on ceramic steel and stroping on cardboard helped a lot. Thanks for advises.
I did the exact same thing, for the exact same reason. I also bought four wooden steak boards to use instead of plates so I wouldn't spend half my life

I use a Naniwa snow-white 8k I like a lot, and a Chosera 5k I don't like that much.
