Well based on the fact he has played with several high end knives knows how they all cut I would say his recommendation sounds good as he probably knows tons of high quality knives

So I see we have some disagreement on those knives being that good

I think I put a good edge on a knife but I cheat with work sharp but it's shaving sharp

Cutting capability it what I'm looking at as well as edge retention

Is there any mass production knives that came compete with kato and shig and what not on that level of proformance.

Well I let the old lady use them and already has a Vic but I'm always trying to upgrade but she really only uses a workhorse knife and uses the vic a lot but uses other knives as well

In all honesty I'm surprised there wasn't quite a few super rare knives but it seems to me proformance has severe diminished returns

It's a great beater knife and can take abuse and used more then a miyabi and shun sora and north arm knife

Nothing wrong with rosewood that I know of but I can't speak for comfort on them I only got my fibrox knives because I was able to get the whole block and knife set for 80 dollars I'm a bargain hunter
