Takada no Hamono Hanabi Shiro 2 santoku and Sakai Kikumori Nakagawa Ginsan petty. Got the santoku from Takada in his shop in Osaka and the petty directly from Kawamura Hamono.

Hi so my friend decided he wants a kurouchi knife so I want to find him a Kyohei Shindo or a Shiro Kamo. Is there a store in Kappabashi that sells either of those makers? Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm going to go to Japan for 2 weeks in April/May during golden week from Canada. Has anyone here bought a knife directly from a smith/sharpener and what was that process like? I'm hoping to get a stainless santoku, something like a Takada ginsan or another knife of that calibre.
