Bent tip repair - Wusthof / Zwilling

Dont heat the tip, you will very quickly destroy the temper and will effect a much bigger area of the blade than just the tip. Bend gently back as others have suggested with blocks or just pushing the tip on a hard surface. Will need to go slightly past straight to reverse the bend. Can be...

Def make maker aware so can be prevented in future. Local repair is cheaper and usually easier for all involved. I sent a knife that got tipped and covered costs to ship back to me due to buyer not feeling comfortable with local sharpeners. Very expensive mistake with 200$ in shipping for a 2...

Appeals generally dont work unless something changes. For me i had 4 posts flagged with same hashtags. Edited and deleted all hashtags and was cleared on appeal. This or delete flagged posts. Ultimately there isn't a solution atm and we will start seeing this impact the whole community more and...

    Wa handle smells bad *help*

You can get friction oils and gloss waxes that will get you out of trouble. I use a food grade carnouba wax and aussie oil friction polish both dry inside of 30 mins

Wipe it down with alcohol like methylated spirits, it removes some of the natural oil from the surface of the timber and will help start to dissipate the scent. It also evaporates and won't do as much damage as soaking...

Rounding choil and spine without a belt sander

Files if they will cut and sandpaper as others have said. Put a layer of tape across the back of the sandpaper before cutting into strips, will stop them snapping as easily. Also tape up or protect the bevels of the blade as it is easy to leave scuff marks when shoe shining the spine and choil
