ATOMA 140x replacement plates
Some smart folks around here have been known to purchase these plates when on sale to stick to the reverse side of another grit ATOMA plate making for a double sided diamond plate solution on the cheap.
If nothing else it's a great deal on a replacement pad.

I picked one of these with the base maybe about a year ago when you had another sale. I can't believe how much I've ended up using it and how well it's held up. -Makes me want to try some one the other grits. Will you ever stock just the replacement pads for the 600 or 1200? I like the idea of adding one of those to the back of my 120 base.

If you were to recommend 1 single grit, which would be most useful in most people's sharpening set ups?
140x - without question

Obviously there ARE other ways to flatten stones and do the coarse grinding work for blade thinning and repair, but this thing is just really nice and so much more enjoyable. If you appreciate quality tools and having the right tool for the job, then this "stone" is something that you'll like.
I used these at Dave's. They are way better for flattening than the DMT plates.
So I've made no sales on this sale. :(
To tell you guys the truth these replacement pads haven't sold very well since we got them in way back when. I've been happy to have them for my own use but I'm questioning ordering anymore for stock. I really thought that these things would be needed/wanted more.
Maybe it's just too soon, like no one has worn their's out yet? What do you guys think?
If they sell that slow I wouldn't order anymore until you run out.
Just saw this sale, I guess I need to go snatch one up and get that $5 shipping!:D
I bought a replacement pad a while back. Haven't needed another but I might as well stock up. :)
