Many of the knives are straight damascus, while some are damascus clad, meaning there is a core steel, surrounded by a damascus steel jacket.
All the makers I have communicated with have been great to talk to.
I had found only 1 company that did damascus as a mass production. They had a Japanese company make them for them. They no longer sell that line, just because they are wanting to go with a straight made in america.
