And I'm a sitter
Here is a stupid question for ya all. I watched the link with the other thread that has the videos and did my own little test. Why not just use a knife with a granton edge for easy release ? Is that...
I've used this knife for over 20 years on fish and its still razor sharp. I've used it to fillet albacore, yellowfin, striped bass, seabass, chinook salmon and sturgeon. They also make a smaller 8inch...
Anyone use the victorinox 10 inch bread knife ? I've heard good reviews on that one. I'm actually in the market for a bread knife that will not break the bank. My understanding is that a longer blade...
do you have a link for the paring knife? thanks !
I'm enjoying using my extra Bodum Burr Grinder for making my own spices and rubs. It has 14 different settings from extra fine to extra course.

I just bought some scrap pieces of leather and I've used metal polish, green and white buffing compound and next I'm going to get some jewelers polish/compound and give it a try. I also picked up a...
it sounds like a hangover is to be expected lol , have fun !
Update: I purchased the Tojiro Shirogami Nakiri 165mm - White #2. If I find myself loving this knife I will pull the trigger on the Gesshin. Thanks for all your help and recommendations.
Honestly I was about to pull the trigger on that set after allot of research on them. Then I found this site. I still think its a good basic set at a reasonable price. It all depends on the person as...
Yes that has been working for me as well. I have made 5 different strops with different compounds. My finest grit stone is a 6000 king.
Until I found this forum I was going to buy a Henckles 4 Star Professional S, 7 piece set for $199. You can find them online. It might be a better choice for an older person at home.
I have the king 1000/6000 combo and I'm very pleased so far with the results. My next purchase will be a wider and longer stone for sure.
I'm not able to post pics yet but I pulled the trigger on a nakiri, the Tojiro Shirogami Nakiri 165mm - White #2. I've always wanted to try a carbon steel knife and a decent nakiri is one knife I...
does this knife release the vegetables well ?
Thanks that is a beautiful looking knife. Does it comes with that cover ?
I'm also open to a carbon steel knife as well. I take good care of my knives so rust is no problem for me. I wipe down my knives after every use.
If you were going to spend under $100 on a nakiri would you consider the Wusthof Classic Nakiri at $79 ?
I have a few knives from the Tojiro DP series and I'm very happy with them. I can get one...
Wow that is impressive
I have a Tojiro DP in the paring, petty and gyuto and they are great knives and can't be beat for the price.
That is a beauty !
Sorry I did not know.
You can't go wrong with this set ! It has 2/3 you are looking for and a nice Gyuto .
