Echerub's BIG knife blowout - there's gonna be something you want :)

It's been a while since the seller has last signed in. Maybe he's left the earth?

    Petty 135mm or 150mm

I grab my 150 over 180 98% of the time. The only times I grab my 180 are to see if I'm missing out on something, which I can conclude that I am not. It's a bit over-sized for me.

Question about San Mai Cladding Line

So I'm googling porn at the moment, Hiromoto AS knives to be more specific. And I came(no pun intended) upon a few petty and gyuto pictures. I couldn't help but notice the difference in the delamination pattern with the petty having a fairly straight line, while the gyuto has a lot of flare. Any...

    A new stainless gyuto

I've been curious about the 'stamped' Sukenari Ginsanko line sold by JCK. I like the price point, and the brand seems to have a great reputation. From what I've read, they are thinner than the forged versions, but aren't quite lasers. Might be what you are looking for. Can anyone share any...

Ealy Paring x2 - Rader Nakiri - HHH Production Midway Line

I may be off-base or wrong here, but I think that may be the HHH gyuto production knife(please delete if I am wrong). I only say this because there is a production number stamped on blade and the scales are wood.

    Media Youtube AWESOME!

Awesome post DamageInc. I love these work in progress vids. The sharpening wheel being used at 3:23 is probably the most stable I've seen. All the others I've seen on video give off some serious vibrations.

Definitely interested. This is the Ginsanko correct? Will it also come with the saya and box as well?

First CCK Cleaver - large vs small

I recently purchased a 1303 and love it. Prior, I had a larger #6 that was a fantastic cutter, but just too large for me to handle comfortably. I'll probably revisit a larger cleaver someday(regrettably just sold it) when I improve my knife skills. To answer your question, I'd start with the...

    Takeda Extra large Mioroshi 235mm

Hey Furminati, what is the spine thickness and height? I'm interested. Could this pass off just as a thicker suji/gyuto and be a solid all-around performing kind of knife?

    Best in-drawer knife storage?

I use tool box liner. Never really liked the look of slotted storage solutions(drawer or block). I don't own many knives, but I do have 2 cleavers I pull out often so it's a great solution for my needs. Though I would get a magnetic bar if I had available wall space.

To petty or not to petty?

Thanks for all the help guys and gals. I was going to pull the trigger on a Carbonext, but was offered a like-new western Konosuke HD 150mm petty from an awesome forum member at an even more awesome price. Can't wait for it to arrive. :D:D:D

To petty or not to petty?
