    Oiling your board

I agree too much oil at once. I pour a bit out spread it over the surface with a paper towel or rag, then pour a bit more until the board is well coated. Let it soak in for about an hour then wipe off the board of any excess.

Bill Burke, Mid Tech, Cris Anderson

If I didn't already have 2 of Cris's knives I'd jump on this one. Both of my knives I have are great performers, and his customer service is top notch.

    Whats your most expensive hobby?

Watches then wine. Glad I hoarded whiskey about 5-10 years ago so I don't have to deal with it now!

Has anyone ordered from buttermilk recently?

When I ordered, I did not receive any specific communication until a shipping notice was emailed. It took about 4-5 days I seem to recall for the knife to be shipped.

I like the angular look of the faceted version a little more but the rounded version is both more substantial and comfortable while using the knife.

Japanese Knives Gengetsu BACK IN STOCK

I'm relatively new into the world of fine chef's knives. I find each new one I've tried to my liking but some a little more than others. I recently purchased a gengetsu and really do like it. I'm sure Jon will point you in the right direction and you'll be happy. Jon called me prior to shipping...

Has anyone ordered from buttermilk recently?

The 210 white 2 I would have preferred but it was sold out. 270mm Gyuto way to big for me. I'm a lowly home cook.
