I agree too much oil at once. I pour a bit out spread it over the surface with a paper towel or rag, then pour a bit more until the board is well coated. Let it soak in for about an hour then wipe off the board of any excess.
If I didn't already have 2 of Cris's knives I'd jump on this one. Both of my knives I have are great performers, and his customer service is top notch.
When I ordered, I did not receive any specific communication until a shipping notice was emailed. It took about 4-5 days I seem to recall for the knife to be shipped.
