Thinning behind the edge - how much is enough?

I've never been much a measurements guy when it comes to sharpening. Thin it until it cuts well, but doesn't collapse/chip/deform/etc. It's kind of a trial and error with every knife. However, 1 cm is a decently wide bevel and would seem to suggest you thinned the shoulder. I've personally...

what about the Kevin Cashen ?

You think that's real wood? I was wondering, but had decided it wasn't.

    Whats cookin for fathers day?

BBQ kitchen...that' sweet. My BBQ kitchen consists of a grill on a deck. :D For me, father's day will consist of a really nice, thick ribeye given to me to cook on said grill. Potato's on the grill and no veggie.

How many amps and what kind of plug for my 220 volt plug.

Do you have? Lucky if you do.

How many amps and what kind of plug for my 220 volt plug.

    That's cheating. :D

How many amps and what kind of plug for my 220 volt plug.

You don't need per say. Running one line from your current panel to a sub panel and then distributing from there is easier than running a new circuit from the existing panel to the shop every time you add another piece of equipment. Getting a subpanel, or at least prepared for one now, will...

    Heat Treating

Kind of assumed that's what a belt furnace was, but didn't know enough to be sure. :D Thanks Larrin, I appreciate it.

How many amps and what kind of plug for my 220 volt plug.

I would put, and did put for that matter, a 30 amp circuit in. If I recall correctly, my grinder motor (the only thing 220 volt I currently have out there) only pulls like 8 amps at 220 volt. I put the 30 amp in case I ever got all carried away and wanted to put in a small subpanel to run...

Whats wrong with all of you? (Thread will close 7-1)

Indeed it was. Never thought I'd ever loose sleep over ITK when they asked me to be a mod. Boy did I get that wrong.

    Heat Treating

Larrin - I'm sorry, I meant "Batch Furnace", not "Batch Hardening". There is also a "Belt Furnace" option, which I don't understand so I thought an oven like we're talking about would be the "Batch Furnace". I would want the "Piece Hardening with Deep Freezing", correct?

    Heat Treating

Thanks Larrin. Not sure about the RapidShare thing Larrin, I cannot find a download link. Don't know, could be missing something. The 13C26 link worked though. So that I understand, I assume what we're talking about here is the "Batch Hardening" tables, yes? If I'm reading that...

Whats wrong with all of you? (Thread will close 7-1)

That's not true...I came here humbly...tried to send you a PT (inbox full), and Dave replied to my "Hello" thread before I found the right words to say something to him in a PT. Don't try to think you know what my attitude is to the whole thing. My "what ever attitude" was directed at your...

Whats wrong with all of you? (Thread will close 7-1)

You see, it's comments like this that make it difficult for me. I'm going to assume it's directed at me. And let's just say there are two sides to that story. There just might be two wolves in sheeps clothing, you think? Maybe it takes a lot for both sides to forgive, and move on. You...

Whats wrong with all of you? (Thread will close 7-1)

That's simply not true as a general rule. Sure, during the n Lear war that erupted during that stretch, I was certainly more trigger happy. However, the members proved time and time again that the thread couldn't continue peacefully. Ultimately someone would start **** and the thread got locked...
