    Build a round platten for your grinder, bend a steel bar to any radius you like. Clamp it to your flat platten, and run your belt over that. Then just adjust your tool rest.

    I have no idea why the thought of that never crossed my mind, and I know completely that those platens exist...

    without a layer of tape, 7.4 per side or double for total
