It has smaller 45s, but in all honesty, it feels really nice. Just different, stylistically.
It's funny. I'm not a fan of machi. Now I know where to go to get a knife without. Looks perfect to me!
A little heads up, since I've had more than a few PMs/emails about this one. This beauty will be sold on my site in the coming days.
Thanks for the interest and kind words.
That is one GOOD looking knife. That handle is so crisp.
You're damn right, Don!
Here's the next knife that I will be getting from Luke (I believe). This one is the "even more Carter-like" one I mentioned earlier. It's a 240 (247mm) gyuto and with a forced mustard patina on an L6 blade. it's been hardened to 64 +/- 1. The handle is different, but I think it's a pretty nice combo. It's copper, wenge wood, a piece of a restaurant prep table, and African blackwood, with a very similar shape to the handle on the laser. Here are the pics:
Let me/us know your thoughts!
The profile looks nice... not a huge fan of the preptable-spacer though.

Really does look like a Carter. I'd like the spacer more if it was thinner and closer to the bolster.
