Great cutting board, and really nice pot rack for your cast irons, I'm jealous.

The pot rack was made by a friend of mine who has a backyard forge. Any decent blacksmith can thrown one together pretty easily.

The main cross bar is a section of 1/4 inch by 4 inch flat stock.
It's easy enough to drill a bunch of holes in this.

The bottom section has a set of rings set into this. These are used to suspend the pots from S hooks.
There are secondary holes to suspend spiders, measuring cups, cleavers, etc.

The top also has a pair of load bearing rings inset into the main bar. (These are welded closed)
Some much longer S hooks link the pot rack to the ceiling. Chain would work just as well.

The design is easy to make and doesn't require any outlandish materials.

The main draw backs are the weight (I anchored the whole thing on a I beam running over my condo) and the fact that it doesn't hang quite even if the weight isn't distributed well.

Nice slab of Maple there. I too like the look of the kitchen. What wood for the cupboards?
