Hi,

I am just playing around with a few things. If you have a moment and a ruler (or a caliper), could you have a look at your 210 to 270 wa gyuto(s) and let me know the size of the tang at the point where it enters into the handle? Something like 4mm x 12mm (or whatever that is in inches ;) ). I am hoping to get a list for a few makers together to get a better idea of the sizes. Of course, they will vary a bit even for each maker, but a general idea is enough for now.

Thanks,

Stefan

on Minamoto izumimasa, gyuto 240mm ''inox''. it is about 2.1mm x 11.5mm x 107mm

Thanks, I was starting to feel ignored ;)

All of my handles are epoxied, so the measurement is taken flush above the handle.

Zensho 210- 4mm x 14mm
Yoshikane SKD- 4.75mm x 13mm
Yoshikane 240 Kiritsuke Shaped Gyuto- 3.5mm x 17mm (It huge front to back)
Gesshin Heiji 210 SS- 3.5mm x 13.5 mm
