Is there really much of a difference between HH and HD?

HD is a little easier to sharping than HH; however, HH is more stain resistant!! I'll choose HD over HH:2cents:

A co worker picked up an hh nakiri as his first Japanese blade. While I've maintained it for him it goes quite a while in between sharpenings and is always still pretty sharp when I get it. I really like the hh and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if it is what you were looking for. The hd does get a little sharper however the edge retention isn't quite as good in my experience.
