This is some Old Growth Redwood that was found in a barn on an old abandoned homestead near here.
Part of the barn had burned down and these slabs were in the fire.
We pressure washed the slabs to remove the charred surfaces and this is what was underneath.
These pieces were the left over portion from a bar top one of the guys here is building.
Now, I am going to cut these pieces into blocks and send them in to be stabilized.

These blocks from a short while back came from this same wood. I just had to wait for the bar top project to get cut before I could claim the rest of the wood.

Ehh, I think you are right, might as well just go to the fire pit. Send it on over, I am having a bon fire this weekend:)

On the plus side, I bet its nice and dry. Nice catch Mark!
