UPS guy just dropped off a big box of nasty looking crusty stuff.
Guess I better get these cleaned up to see if they are any good.

It won't be nasty for long in your capable hands!
Still patiently waiting for a superior block of quilted maple, man that stuff seems in short supply lately.
OK......I was teasing before.
The Redwood Burl in this batch is some higher grade burl.
This photo shows a normal piece of Redwood and the two types of burl.
Big difference in coloring.
A good bit of the wood in the following two photos is already spoken for.
But I will get the available pieces posted in the store tomorrow after I get things sorted out.
Even the worst pieces in this batch are really good.
I thought these blocks looked a lot like Thuya Burl.
And these ones are almost a brown/burgundy color.

This is the buckeye from this batch. Buckeye is a PIA with having to fill open eyes and bark pockets.
But the results are worth the extra effort. I am just glad I'm not making guitars with this stuff.

and finally a handful of Birch and Maple blocks.

Damit I knew I didn't want to click this link. Now I will be thinking of wood all night. Not good for a single guy on a fri. night.
Chewie's the man.
That redwood looks like it's alive, don't know how to explain it.
