    love those spacers....nice to see a santoku getting some love here (not that I like them either ). Nice patina too. Care to give any hints for how you did that?

    Beautiful patina, Randy. It looks like you did a background with mustard and then circles with steel wool?

    I got a pair of scales from Craig that I think mightve been from the same piece. Beeeautiful.

    Id be happy to share how I do the patina. First I heat the blade under the tap. Then when its still warm. I apply Mustard with in this case a basting brush. Swirling the mustard on both sides. After about 5 minutes I rinse under the hottest water my sink will give me. Then dry with a soft towel.

    Repeat steps until I am happy with the changes and colors., Apply a light coat of mineral oil.

    Nothin to it but to do it!

    I've only done this once before and used mustard with....interesting...results. Will definitely have to give your approach a go. Thanks!
