Bester 500 is what I've been using, but I wanna kick it up a notch.

Diamonds aside, there was a related thread not too long ago and the favs turned out to be the Chosera 400 and Gesshin 400 - at that grit, at least.

Right, but that was for bevel setting right? I'm looking for something that can do a good job thinning. My bester 500 can set the bevel just fine.

What behemoths are you thinning? I think the Bester 500 works fine for thinning. You know the saying.......

The bester works pretty good, I just want something a little faster. I guess a dmt is the way to go

If faster is your concern, I'd say it wouldn't matter if you were thinning or otherwise.

Obviously, the fastest would have to be a diamond plate. Get an Atoma from toolsfromjapan.com. He's the cheapest.

Can you remove the atoma scratch marks with a bester 500?

I have pretty good results with an Atoma 140 or DMT xxc followed by a ******** 150 to remove scratches before my regular progressions.
