    Suisin HC

Does anyone know what type of steel Suisin uses in the high carbon line?

Is this something new? I always dig the entry level HC or VC type knives that makers come out with.

It has been around forever. Very good F/F. Better than average for an entry level line. Not as inexpensive as they once were, but still a good bang for the buck. They don't get a lot of notice, but it always seems that the folks that have them have very good things to say about them.

I did a Google search and found them at Korin. http://korin.com/Suisin-High-Carbon-Steel-Gyutou

I've seen these before but never knew what they were and I honestly can't recall anyone mentioning them but maybe my mind is slipping....definite possibility there.

I've always wondered why this knife doesn't get more mention. Appears to be a good value.
