Steel of your Dreams
Hello Everyone,
This is my first post, I couldn't find any titles U'ingTSF, forgive me if i missed anything along these lines.
Q. What would YOUR ultimate dream steel look and perform like?
Hardness:
Toughness:
Strength :
What Elements or even Elemental composition would you have? Perhaps properties you would like to add to your favourite steels already out there?

Hard as possible without chip prone.
Retention of AS, ease of sharpening as W2.
Not quite super fine grained, toothiness is a must.

Welcome to KKF!
I don't really care about composition of steel as long as it gets sharp and doesn't require much maintenance.

To me: Niolox
But much, much much more important ist the heat treat. A 440c with good heat-treatment surpasses an aogami with bad heat treatment...

Whatever steel that skilled maker prefers and/or is comfortable working... To whatever specs he chooses.
I would give my input for preferred profile and length, but would leave the steel and technical choices to the expert (read Maker)
