Pretty amazing. Technology today is reaching into every facet of life. It's a bit scary.
 
3d printed knife handles would be pretty close to possible and 3d printed knife blanks too.

Actually, handles are more realistic target. 3D printers will make CNC machines that some makers employ in carving handles, much more expensive setup. You material choice with 3D printers will be limited to polymers, but that's what handles on folders/tactical knives are made these days anyway.

Knife blanks are safe, as properties of heat treated steel can't be matched by polymers. Yet.
