Strolled through an antiques festival today and came across this. I think most people (except knife forum types:D) wouldn't have looked twice at a knife with a plastic handle held together with some flat head bolts and square nuts (strangely not fitting into the countersunk holes...). Blade looks suspiciously like a canadian sab. finger guard/bolster...martinet forge? fiteen bucks didn't seem like a stretch. Especially for someone always looking to re-handle and eyeing TBT's canadian massifs.
i don't see a maker's mark
could this be anything other than a sab?
not sure if many others forged similarly

8" blade

check out the tang that tapers down to almost nothing

anyways...thought you would enjoy

looks like an old Sab style. Doesn't look American the tip is too pointy for the time period. You never know. Definitely, not British or German. $15 is a steel . That thing should take a wicked edge. I would grind the edge flat to remove any fatigued metal and then put new edge bevels on it and start all over with fresh steel.
