I guess to be more specific, not just a breaking knife but one with a really pronounced upswing. Yes, there are a crap load on ebay but I'd rather give my money to someone here than there.

Breaking knife = rock chopper profile??

Now to me, that is a boning knife and I have one just like it and a straight one. And, these can be had waaaay cheaper than this guy is asking (price and shipping is way out of line...or not...haven't looked in a while). What I call a breaking knife, right or wrong, is something like these:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...w=Forschner+breaking+knife&_sacat=0&_from=R40

Or these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-BUTCHER-K...586?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5af374d022

Or more likely a 10" or longer. I still have my dad's (12") which is over 60 years old (he was a butcher...not a meat cutter) Good luck in your quest.

The Kershaw that I listed and your Forschner you listed are the same knives. I know because I have both. Same width and shape. Pics could be deceiving I guess.

I'm not sure what you're saying. Pics can be deceiving yes , but Forschners are made in Europe, last I heard, and Kershaw is made in Japan from an entirely different steel.

I have quite a few but honestly google breaking knife and you can get a forschner for like 15-30 bucks depending on the handle. They are dirt cheap. I prefer the 8 inch. An 8 in upswept breaking knife is one of my favorites for butchery. Unfortunately I have never seen any by custom makers. I am having Randy make me one right now.

I just wrote without looking who posted. I think I have one you can have. I could bring it next time.
