I'm getting tired of poking holes in my wood to get MC readings so I'm thinking about getting a pinless type and was wondering if any of you could make a recommendation. I know Wagner makes a good line. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought a cheaper one but never quite trusted it. Then decided I don't need one. I buy my wood from a few trusted sources, let it sit around for at least another 6 months per inch, and then send it to K&G. And even though they say it should be 10% or less, I cannot get that in HI without a kiln and never had any issues with air dried pieces.

Honestly, good luck getting good readings with a surface meter. The moisture content will be higher in the middle of the wood. Delmhorst meters are the way to go.
