Up for sale: Blazen yo-deba

Blade: 210mm from heel to tip. 52mm wide at the heel. The spine width is approx. 4 mm at the heel and only starts to taper half way to the tip.

Steel: Powdered high speed tool steel.

Fit and finish: Very well put together knife. What one would expect from a Blazen.

Weight: 344 grams.

Overall condition/reason for sale: The overall condition is excellent as the pictures show. I haven’t used this knife much which is the main reason for the sale. It has been used for breaking down the occasional chicken. Not much else. I can only recall 3 or 4 sharpenings. No major metal removal, profile changes or thinning. I had a little slipup on the very first sharpening and to remove the blemish I did a quick refinish with 600 grit sandpaper over the entire surface. This knife is not what I would call razor sharp at the moment. When breaking down chickens I prefer to feel my way between joints and I don’t find razor sharpness beneficial in that scenario.

This is a very substantial knife, well balanced and a pleasure to use. It just needs a home where someone will use it more regularly than I have.
