An old pedal powered grindstone converted to electric I had a chance to put through its paces on an old sickle and about 50 knives. Did a surprisingly good job on the knives in spite of the slightly out of round wheel! (Sorry about the crap phone quality; it was done looking into a darkish barn from a bright doorway.
