    The oldest Beatty cleaver

I've posted it before but I think it will make a good addition to this section of the forum

It's stamped Thomas Beatty Forged Down Co. Ireland 1662 it was rusted to all hell when I got it but after a few days in Electrolytic derusting bath it turned out not to be in bad shape at all, funny my oldest Beatty is in the best shape... took a nice edge too
Old boy Tom lived his whole life in county down island, he was the great great grand uncle of William Beatty of the "Beatty and sons" cleavers we all know and love. From all of the research I have done I believe Thomas was the first cleaver making Beatty in this long cleaver making blacksmith family line.
